Instructions: While a team member facilitates the session directly with the child, the other team members will observe and record developmental skills across the 5 domains. The child will lead the session while team members gather functional information based on natural interactions and play activities. Utilize the standardized instructions for roles and strategies to administer the play-session.
Materials: Manual and forms, age-appropriate toys specified within the manual, observation/recording sheets
User Qualifications: Training on the TPBA2 is available.
How to Score: Using the recording sheets, observations on developmental milestones across the domains will be tracked. Team members will collaborate to interpret the observations and plan interventions accordingly.
Score Indications: There is no standardized numerical scoring system.
Reliability:
Interrater reliability - High
Validity:

Strengths:
Child-led - optimizing the child's abilities and behaviors to present
Professional team collaboration ensures multiple perspectives can evaluate the child's behaviors without needing multiple evaluation sessions that will overwhelm the child
Assists in intervention planning
Weaknesses:
Requires team coordination - can be difficult with timing
Lacks consistent method for scoring
Time-consuming
