Spring Sports Review

Our spring regular season is winding down, and below are some updates, including a Section Champions girls lacrosse team, historic Track and Field performances, and 15 student-athletes who are committed to continue their athletic careers at some top universities.

An Inexpensive but Fun Summer

As school comes to an end, many are very eager to have a great summer but are often left with the question of how. Finding fun things to do in the summer can often cost a lot of money that many teens don’t want to spend, as they have to begin thinking about how to pay for expenses such as college. So, here are some fun and inexpensive activities to do this summer:

Central Air at the HS - Here's The Deal

Summer is just around the corner, and for high school students like those here at Nyack, that means just another handful of weeks before we can enjoy two months of a long-awaited break. It also means hot classrooms. The installation of a central air-conditioning system at Nyack High School would be a popular and sensible move by the central administration.

Sinners is Anything But

Every so often, there comes along a movie, or a book, or some other piece of media that terrifies me. Not necessarily because it’s scary, but because the quality of the writing is so unbelievably good that it makes me worry that nothing will ever be able to equal or surpass it. “Sinners” is one of those creations.

Opinion: Digital APs More Trouble than They Are Worth

For many students like myself, we’ve come to expect a certain user experience when taking a national or state-mandated standardized test: The multiple #2 pencils, dark blue or black pens, and the infamous bubble sheets have become familiar over the years. But this year, the College Board administered an overwhelming majority of their AP exams in a digital or hybrid format, and this significant change has sparked widespread controversy. Some have welcomed the change, while others have been wary of this new, unfamiliar system.
