Say, Love

Say, Yes

by Daria Peoples

Say, Yes

each time we fail because we will

each time our souls have no place to rest

each time our sorrow fills inside our lungs

Say, Yes

Say, Yes

each time we find ourselves

at  the end of things

At the end of me is you

At the end of you is me

At the end of us

is a new beginning,

and it is good, so much better

than anything we’ve known before

At the end, there is grace,

and grace is always enough

even when we are not

The end is finished

It is done

Our story is written

Say, Love

it works out

Let’s bury our feet in the sand

and throw our heart’s desire deep

into the ocean

Let’s lay our heads on the shoulder

of certainty and lift our eyes towards heaven

Let’s stand hand in hand

with the moon against our backs,

with the sun upon our faces

With patience and courage,

in power and strength,

let’s sit and wait

by the water

for joy in every sunset,

gratitude in every sunrise,

until our gift arrives ashore

This I know—

love is always for us

The end is

beautiful

Greet peace

Greet laughter

Greet dancing all night long

Say, Love

Say, Yes
