Current exhibits in the library reading room and the Conti Family Community Room:
October 19 to January 17, 2026: Our walls will be exhibiting the works of our local renowned photographer, educator, writer, and local business owner, Nancy Ori.
November 2025: The Glass Cabinet will display the glass works of Bonnie O'Connor.

Sept to Oct 16: Emilie Whitley, Dipwanita Manna (Ghoroi), and Linda Tribuna
Emilie Whitley's oil paintings capture the awe of landscapes and seascapes, Dipwanita Manna (Ghoroi) combines media and various ways of interpreting life, and Linda Tribuna's realistic drawings are beautifully rendered with woodless graphite pencils.
October 2025: Our cabinet combines Linda Kale's pine-needle baskets and Violet Musso needlepoint treasures
September 2025: The glass cabinet displays fabric personalities by Wendi Mulvey. Her hand-stitched fabric creatures playfully represent the four seasons.
June 2 until August 31st, 2025, the art of 36 residents of our community is represented on the walls of our library and in the cabinet.
March 29 - May 30, 2025 We feature Malathi Ananthakrishnan, a textile artist who lives in New Providence, NJ
Her creative work with fabrics, which can be hand-dyed, photo-sensitized, and sewn into a patterned designs, are enjoyable and inspiring on the walls of the library and the Conti Room.
Her reception is Saturday, April 26 from 3:30 to 4:30pm

February 4 - March 30, 2025: The Sumi-E society gave painting demonstrations at their reception, March 8th in the Conti Community Room.

The New Providence Boy Scouts have a Pinewood Derby every year and they displayed their hand-carved cars in the library glass cabinets
February 2025 Cabinet:
The Historical Society has a display in our glass cabinets for the month of February, showcasing antique womens shoes and accessories.

Diana forages natural found treasures of the forest with cards, scraps, and bits of lace, into Fairy Houses, villages and beaches. Her display will be in the cabinet for 2 months

Three-dimensional works from fiber by 5 artists: Judy Enright, Sue Erdreich, Ritu Lalan, Gabrielle Stern, and Katie Truk
Martha Kieczykowski is a scientist by training, who combines artistic perspective and chemistry of oxygen, cobalt, sawdust, or smoke to her process in creating beautiful pottery. Ms. Kieczykowski's work is for sale, and her contact info can be found in the cabinet and in the Friends' Artists' Notebook.

Join the Friends of the Library for a reception to meet Thomas Dackow and Gerald Vogel, whose joint photography exhibit reveals the uncommon beauty of the commonplace and evokes treasured memories of places and experiences. Everyone is welcome to attend.

April-May 2023: The Annual Student Art Show, with drawings, paintings, photography, graphic designs, mixed-media, and digital works of art.
February - March 2023:
Two NJ area artists: Bill Vivona , a printmaker / painter who taught at NPHS for 26 years, and Francisco Silva, an oil painter whose style is influenced by Edward Hopper, Fauvism and the Social Realists.
December - January 2023:
A collection of artists from our area express the theme of "Portraits" in a variety of mediums and styles.
The glass cabinet will feature knits and other creations by Maasa for the month of January 2023
November 2022, the library's glass cabinets displayed the sculptures of Isabella Blumberg
August - September:
Julie's works focus on clothing as art objects, some from handmade paper, often integrating imagery printed or sewn into the clothes.
June-July 2021: New Providence residents shared their creations which included photography, painting, drawing, and/or sculpture, exploring the history, many uses, and meanings of “Mask”.
April-May 2022: Art by the curators, Lynn Celler, Denise Moser, Beth Spiegel, and Louise Wheeler, was in the front reading room. Meanwhile, 2D and 3D art by New Providence High School students was in the Conti Family Community Room and the glass cabinet.
Nov-Dec 2021: Bharat captures the beauty of the everyday sights that exist in New Providence: the Murray Hill train station, the Presbyterian church at sunset, our parks in the spring, Lieder field, and the NJ Transit! (click on title or image to reach the exhibit)
October 2021:
The New Providence elementary, middle school, and high school students created posters to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month. The jurors for the Diversity Committee chose three winners, one from each school level.
May-June 2021:
Limited to New Providence High School age residents (NPHS, private, magnet or home school), we judged the best works of art, which were submitted by their teachers or themselves, to reward excellence, provide awards, and celebrate the accomplishments of our students in the visual arts, despite this difficult year of limited in-class support.
Jan-April 2021:
Sunsets are featured for our online exhibit. Lynn shares her magnificent views from Lantern Hill in New Providence.
October-December 2020:
