Wendi has hand-stitched all of the creatures and personalities in our glass cabinet for the month of September. Her creations playfully represent four different seasons.
In her real life, Wendi Mulvey is an environmental educator, both professionally at the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and as a docent at the Turtle Back Zoo. She is constantly inspired by the wild and wonderful living things she encounters. She says it is great fun to create fantastical versions of creatures both real and imagined to share with others.
She sells her creations
She tries to work with environmentally friendly materials whenever possible. Much of the felt for the ornaments is made from recycled plastic water bottles. The majority of the fabric, ribbon, buttons, and thread used for the soft sculpture animals are thrifted and upcycled. A portion of the sales of her artwork is donated to nature conservation charities, both local and international.
Wendi's craft business is called Enchanted Forest Crafts, and her Etsy shop is called EnchantedForestCraft.
