The Friends of the Library hosted the 2022 New Providence Annual Community Art show, which was on exhibit in our gallery spaces for June and July. This show featured art created and submitted by New Providence residents responding to the theme “The Art of the Mask.”
This community art event explored the long history and many uses and meanings oif the term "mask," while it exhibitsthe creativity and talents of the New providence resident, young and old.
Works were in a range of mediums, including drawing, painting, photography, collage, textiles and quilts, with a broad representation from many contributors, young and adult.
Also on display on the walls were the masks by Leslie Jacobsen, in the Conti Community room and in the reading area of the library

Also, we are having two Community Craft workshops for parents and children of all ages to come and create their own decorative mask, on either Thursday, June 9th, 3-4pm or on Saturday, June 18th, in the Coddington room in the childrens' wing.
