Physics is the investigation of the relationship between motion and energy. This course uses the science skills and basic physics concepts from Fundamentals of Science, and the mathematical problem solving skills, scientific research, lab skills, and technical writing taught in chemistry to further develop ideas about Newtonian mechanics, energy, waves, sound, and light. Trigonometry is necessary for the study of vectors and their application to force and projectiles. Students will use their technical writing skills to express their understanding of the many lab activities. This course is important for students going into engineering, medicine, and many other upper level science related majors in college. Students entering this course should have a basic understanding of trigonometry and advanced algebra.
