Join us, Wednesday, November 6, 2023, from 2:30-4PM ET / 11:30-1PM PT on Zoom to hear Heather Tubbs Cooley, PhD, RN, FAAN, present her work on "Examining differences in nursing care quality by infant race and ethnicity."
Dr. Tubbs Cooley is an expert in pediatric and perinatal health care quality and patient safety, with a research program focused on the care delivery mechanisms linking the organization and financing of nursing services with patient outcomes. She incorporates theoretical frameworks and methods from health services research, psychology and systems engineering to study clinician workload, staffing resources and dynamics, and other organizational factors that affect the reliable delivery of high-quality nursing care. Her work spans pediatric populations and settings including general inpatient and home-based pediatric care and neonatal intensive care environments and has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
Do not miss Dr. Heather Tubbs Cooley share her work rooted her in extensive experience as a clinician and scientist in top children’s hospitals and a principal investigator in the Center for Perinatal Research at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Next up, the team is thrilled to welcome Dr. Joseph Wright at their next meeting. Joseph L. Wright, MD, MPH was appointed last year as the Chief Health Equity Officer and Senior Vice President for Equity Initiatives of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He most recently served as inaugural Chief Health Equity Officer of the University of Maryland Medical System and prior to that was tenured Professor and Chair of Pediatrics at the Howard University College of Medicine. He spent more than two decades in leadership at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC where he provided strategic direction for the organization’s advocacy mission, public policy positions, and community partnership initiatives while also serving 17 years as the inaugural State Pediatric Medical Director within the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems. Dr. Wright maintains appointments as adjunct professor of emergency medicine and health policy at George Washington University, and teaches as professor of health policy and management at the University of Maryland School of Public Health.
