"Milk is Medicine" is the theme at Saul's Light's 4th Annual NICU Health & Equity Summit is taking place Thursday, September 19 at 8 am at Children's Hospital New Orleans LCMC and virtually! Learn from their powerful keynote speaker, Dr. Aunchalee Palmquist.
The NICU Summit brings together healthcare providers, patient families, and community leaders to create collective solutions to increase human milk provision (breastfeeding) for NICU families throughout Louisiana.
NJC’s fearless Chair Kayla Karvonen will be presenting at Delphi Conference this coming September with a talk entitled "Why We Must Get Comfortable Talking About Racism in Healthcare Settings.”
Consistent feedback and data are vital components to the research process and clinical care. The research subcommittee is seeking feedback from NJC members about what is working well, areas for improvement, and potential new initiatives, with the goal of generating plans for the upcoming year to best serve the NJC research community.

Stephanie Adam, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Nurse Manager of the NICU and Continuing Care Nurseries at Baystate Children’s Hospital, presented her work with Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) on "Reducing Safety Disparities at Baystate Children’s Hospital.
Monica Germain, BSN, RN, CCRN, recently completed the Ravin Davidoff Health Equity Fellowship at Boston Medical Center, and shared her work with colleague Donna Stickney on "Diversifying the Nursing Workforce."
Ashlee Vance, PhD, MA, RN, RNC-NIC, Assistant Scientist, at Center for Health Policy & Health Services Research at Henry Ford Health, presented her project, titled "Nursing Program for Advancing Training in Health and Social Determinants (N-PATHS)" which was submitted as an R25 application to NINR (funding decision pending).
