PREDECESSORS AND SHORT HISTORY: The rulers of Jaisalmer are descendants of Lord Hari Krishna, a Yadu Rajput of Somvansha i.e., Lunar or Indu race.(#1) the city of Prayag (aka Prayagraj and Allahabad) was the cradle of the race after which Mathura remained the seat of power for a long period. They were driven out of Mathura after their chief being defeated and killed and settled at Punjab and Kabul where after a brave chief they changed the patronym to Bhati, but his descendants were defeated by the invading tribal Muhammadans and they shifted their capital to the Thar desert.
