The Wellness 1 curriculum offers a variety of opportunities for physical activity. Each class is based on a fitness model and uses the benefits of circuit training, personal fitness concepts, and small sized activities to maximize participation. Student will learn how to properly exercise in an effort to set and reach personal fitness goals. Progress and goals will be assessed and monitored to maximize mental and physical health benefits. Wellness 1 curriculum has a detailed focus throughout 4 units; The 5 health related components and principles of fitness, major muscle groups and functions, principles of physical training, and a CPR course from which the students will be trained to administer this life saving skill.
