Thankful Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Thankful is developed by Nathan Edkin ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how Thankful handles your information. In short: Thankful runs entirely on your device, and we do not collect your data.
Information we collect
None. Thankful has no account system and no server operated by us. Your events, gifts, notes, mailing addresses and photos are stored only on your device.
Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, health data, advertising identifiers or usage analytics. Thankful makes no network requests, does not track you across other apps or websites and contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Purchases
Thankful offers one optional, one-time in-app purchase (Thankful Pro). Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details.
Data retention and your control
Everything Thankful saves stays on your device. Exports you create are files you choose to share. Deleting the app removes all of its data, including gift photos.
Children
Thankful is a general-audience app. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children.
Camera, contacts and on-device AI
Thankful uses the camera or photo library only when you choose to add a gift photo or read a card. Card text is recognized on your iPhone with Apple's Vision framework. When you pick someone from Contacts, Apple's contact picker shares only that one contact with Thankful. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Pro note drafts are written by Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. None of this is sent to us or to any third party.
