If you see an “An Error Occurred” message in the modcore Extension Manager, it means something went wrong during an operation. This is a general error message that can appear for various reasons when a specific cause can’t be identified immediately.
Common causes include:
Temporary server or network issues.
Bugs or unexpected conditions in the extension or its connected services.
Outdated cache or corrupted local data.
Conflicts with add-ons, themes, or browser-level settings.
Rate limiting or temporary service restrictions.
Step 1: Basic Troubleshooting
Check that your internet connection is active and stable.
Refresh or retry the action that caused the error.
If you’re using a VPN, proxy, or firewall, temporarily disable it and try again.
Step 2: Check for Updates and Restart
Make sure you’re using the latest version of the modcore Extension Manager.
Restart your browser, then reopen the extension.
If the error continues, go to Options → Backup & Restore → Data Management to clear local data and reload a fresh environment.
Step 3: Identify Possible Extension Conflicts
If you recently installed or updated an add-on, try disabling it temporarily.
Reopen modcore Extension Manager and check if the error persists.
Conflicts or malformed add-on data can sometimes trigger this error message.
Step 4: Check Server or System Status
If the issue occurs only occasionally, it may be a temporary server or API error—please try again later.
Step 5: Report the Issue
If none of the steps above resolve the problem, please contact support and include:
A short description of what you were doing when the error appeared.
Any error codes or messages visible in the console (if applicable).
Your modcore Extension Manager version, browser version, and operating system.
