Internet Connection Requirements

Some features of modcore Extension Manager require an active internet connection to access online functionality. The core extension management features work entirely offline, but certain enhanced capabilities need to reach external services.

GitHub Dependency

modcore Extension Manager relies on GitHub for several key functions: hosting source code, distributing releases and updates, managing issue tracking, and powering community discussions. We also use the GitHub API to deliver dynamic data directly within the extension—such as extension metadata, version information, and repository details.

Geographic Limitations

Because GitHub may be restricted or completely blocked in some regions, internet-dependent features along with related content like source code access, discussions, and issue tracking may not function properly or may be unavailable entirely. modcore strives to make the modcore Extension Manager accessible globally, but local laws or network regulations beyond our control can prevent this in certain territories.

Alternative Distribution

To ensure users everywhere can access our software, modcore also publishes projects on itch.io and will soon offer direct downloads through our official website. These mirrors provide the same software without relying on GitHub infrastructure.
