We hebben deze les gekeken naar de artikelen die we mee hadden en wat we daarin wel en niet vonden werken.
Ook hebben we geluisterd naar een snack over beeldspraak en metaforiek.

I eventually had 3 ideas I was happy with that I worked into 'final versions' for feedback.
I decided on not going with any characters focussed drawings to force myself out of my artstyle a bit and try and come up with more visually interesting ideas instead of falling back onto character art.
The feedback I got was mostly on the whole trash aspect of it. It could give across the wrong idea of saying the art is trash. Someone who won't read the article won't get the point of it.
Daniel was very positive over the clock drawing based off of "insert name that i totally didnt forget" so that's what I continued on with.
I made several tries at it but all of them were missing something. So I talked about it with Daniel and the whole time and art is already very present in it since it's literally taken from a painting so what was missing was the labour part.
Since in the article the amount of work and time it takes is talked about frequently.
It still is nowhere near done and needs alot of puzzling en working on it since I as of right now still don't have any clue what to do with the third and final drawing so.
The goal is:
today > finish the sketches
wednesday > finish the drawings (+ maybe sketches infographic)
tursday > work out sketches infographic
Conclusion of the day (wed) is that redactionele illustration isn't really my thing. I like the concept but I don't have the quick thinking skills to combine two different objects in an effective way but these are my favorite ideas I've got.

For the infographic I've got a few ideas:
train journey
sketchbooks (timeline maybe?)
books (ratings or smt)
groceries
how disfunctional my dorm building is
mini present collection
how many episodes of series I've watched
how often the fire alarm goes off in my building
For inspiration and source research I've got a few things noted down:
financial times: visual vocabulary > gives you all the main used grafieken for every kind of subject/article

Wij hebben het gedeelte opinie voor deze opdracht gekregen. Hier hebben we niet echt een artikel maar mogen we uit ons eigen leven onderzoek doen en nummers vinden .
Hierom is het boek ook een goede inspiratie bron aangezien het brieven bevat van twee vrienden die infographics maakte van allemaal dagelijkse dingen.

Left is what I ended up with after the first few changes but it could still use something extra to make it more interesting so I worked on a couple more idea sketches and then worked out a final version

so what Christine said is that we don't actually have to use 3 mediums in one drawing and just experiment with 3 different materials seperately
Ive done marker and digital so far so next is going to be watercolor/goauche
I am a big fan of the digital ones with the big hair so thats what im going to continue with

try and see how far I can abstractify it
for this portret I challenged myself to see how far I could push this portrait while it still being recognizable and I am very happy with my progress of this portret especially the sketchbook page
I tried a bunch of different styles of drawing faces as well as different mediums to see which would work
after a while I was looking at it for so long I couldn't really tell whether it was recognizable or not so after I finished my idea for the final version I decided to ask people and they definitely recognized her thank god
I also asked some irl friends and family since the people online are in the same kind of internet bubble I am so just to be sure I wanted a more objective look at it and they also recognized her
Over all I am very happy with this one right now im still just very indisicive about what I am going to turn in. Since the talk with Christine about how my art loses its lets call it spark when it gets turn into its own piece.
But I think I'm going to try and solve that problem more in the beeldverhaal.
Im pretty happy with what I've got as final result rn and doubt im going to change anything about it

dag in het leven van een lab aap
> laten zien hoe hij zijn eigen keuzes maakt en wat hij dan doet door de dag heen
apen als wetenschappers
> wat als ik het omdraai? zijn mensen er dan nog steeds zo oke mee?

> laat het brein zien als een soort van reis in het eigen brein en alle processen etc etc

okay so it's the christmas holidays now and plans have changed I've noted down the article in a list of steps of 5 to turn into the beeldverhaal:
Dagelijkse verzorging
> de apen worden opgevangen in een omgeving waar ze zo comfortabel mogelijk zullen zijn
> verzorgers bouwen een relatie met ze op zodat ze niet bang zullen zijn
Vrijwillige training
> de apen worden stapgewijs getraind om aan experimenten deel te nemen
> beloningen worden gegeven als ze het goed hebben gedaan
Voorbereidingen op experimenten
> bij sommige experimenten is een operatie eerst nodig wat onder stricte regels gaat
> na de ingreep krijgt de app de nodige tijd te herstellen
De proef zelf
> de apen voeren cognitieve of motorische taken uit in een test opstelling terwijl hun hersenactiviteit wordt gemeten
> dit doen ze alleen als de app dit wilt
Nazorg en rust
> na de test gaan de apen terug naar hun normale omgeving en worden ze opnieuw verzorgd en gecheckt om zeker te zijn dat ze gezond en comfortabel zijn
