Time Off requests for sick, vacation, bereavement, etc are all tracked in DayForce. Your site managers are responsible for requesting their time off so you should only need to approve it. However, there are sometimes that an employee calls out unexpectedly at the end of the pay period and wasn't present to make the request, in which case you would need to add it in manually. You will be notified via email of any time off requests, though you will also see a notification when you login to DayForce if you have any pending approvals for Time Off.
Login to your DayForce account as "Manager".
You should see a notification at the top right for any pending approvals.
When reviewing a time off request, you will see the days/hours that the employee is requesting as well as what their pending balance would be assuming the request is approved. (So essentially it shows you what your employee would be left with if you approved this time off.)
Approve or reject as needed.
If your employee called out at the end of the pay period and was not present to make the time off request, leaving you to add the hours in yourself. See Time Punch Corrections for how to add a non-work shift.
