My role with this experience was the facilitator and administrator of our after school program.
It aligns with Safety and Security because I demonstrated the ability to implement policy and procedure for a missing child.
As a future principal, I have learned that procedures did not give me answers that I needed inorder to solve this incident efficiently. The proccedure is written in order of action steps without time.
I have included District 196 Emergency Procedure Guide and a snapshot of their procedure around response, recovery, and evaluation.
My role with this experience was a leader.
It aligns with safety and security because I had to predict what we would do in a moment of crises, plan for next steps that connect with every student and adult to keep everyone safe.
As a future principal, I have learned that our building system does not align with our district procedure guide of action steps. Your reaction is extremely important to keep people safe.

It aligns with safety and security competency because I demonstrated the ability to develop and implement policy and procedures for safe and secure educational environments.
As a future principal, I have learned that knowing your audience and how to communicate with that audience around safety becomes critical. In order for there to be a secure plan it has to be communicated more than just digital communication.
