Apple Valley News Letter

I have included a news letter that was sent out to the families of Apple Valley High School after an interview from the construction manager.

My role in this experience was the creator.

This experience aligns with the community realtions competency because I promoted a positive image of school and district.

As a future principal, I learned whenever you are financing huge projects, it is important to highlight the projects and continue to communicate through the construction with your community.

Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Board- Parent and Family Engagement

I have included the agende for November 19th Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Meeting, where I will highlight the agenda item- parent and family engagement.

My role in this experience was a participant.

This experience aligns with the community realtions competency because I Identified and interacted with internal and external publics.

As a future principal, I learned that it is very important to utilize communication and use parent and community voice. It was sad to hear so many memebers not aware of the differnt activities and events that were planned for them and on the flip, the lack of diverse opportunities.

Targeted Service After School Class based on Parent Request

I have included a class description that was requested at our Somali family night. Families were looking for more opportunities for academic support.

My role in this experience was the creator and leader.

This experience aligns with the community realtions competency because I requested and responded to community feedback.

As a future principal, I learned it is important to provide opportunity to hear parent voices and respond in a timely matter. I also learned that communicating this request to staff was just as important because we needed their support to get the clas going.
