Daily Practice

What is one thing that you can practice daily in each of the 10 Pillars of Life? Here are several recommended habits to adopt.

1) Physical - Sleep 8 hours, Do 15 push ups, Do 30 crunches, Hold a plank for 60 seconds (straight and on each side), Take a morning cold shower, Exercise for at least 20 minutes, Run 1 mile, Bike 4 miles, Four way hip stretching, Foam roll your muscles, Online yoga classes, Don't drink alcohol, Wear clothes that are comfortable and make you feel confident, Take an afternoon nap, Stop eating at least 1 hour before bed, Stop looking at your phone at least 1 hour before bed (and don't look at your phone for the first hour of tomorrow)

2) Emotional - Positive self-talk and affirmations (i.e., "I feel happy. I feel healthy. I feel terrific. I feel loved."), Stop saying stupid shit out loud, Cut people who drag you down out of your life, Help friends, family, and people you love, Don't make yourself feel guilty, Always Be Honest, Express gratitude, Focus on what you have and can do (not on what you don't have and can't do), Read uplifting articles and books, Turn off the news, Avoid social media news feeds

3) Mental - Write down a list of 10 ideas, Read for 25 minutes, Read morning email newsletters (Seth Godin, A Learning A Day, Daily Stoic, Axios Login, Morning Brew), Explore a Google search rabbit hole on a topic you're curious about, Listen to a podcast during your morning routine or workout, Listen to an audiobook, Explore online learning classes, Ask a friend for their favorite book recommendation

4) Spiritual - Add a new ritual to Ignite Your Intuition, Pray to something bigger than yourself, Meditate for 2-20 minutes one or two times today, Be grateful and forgiving, Quiet Time Reflecting, Read Daily Stoic, Read Notes from the Universe

5) Family - FaceTime, call, text, or email at least one family member every day, Call your sister, brother, or close friend every afternoon at 5pm (or another consistent time), Comment, like, or connect with at least one family member on social media, Ask a family member what they are struggling with and how you can help, Offer to go to the store for older family members

6) Relationships - Interact positively with 3 people, Compliment someone's wardrobe or performance, Give a deposit into a Relationship Bank, Share a link to an interesting article, Schedule a time to catch up with an old friend, Commit to leaving work (or turning off your laptop) before 6pm to be home (and present) for dinner, Buy your partner fresh flowers (or a small, thoughtful token of your appreciation) every two weeks

7) Business - Cross 1 important item off your to do list, Come up with 1 new business idea, Conduct 1 customer discovery interview, Strengthen your bond with 1 colleague, Make 1 sales presentation, Add value to 1 or more customers, Communicate with key stakeholders, Prepare for your next meeting or presentation, Lead an efficient meeting to make decisions, Prepare a proposal for a new client, Schedule a meeting to reconnect with someone, Schedule an informational interview to learn more about someone's career path, Ask someone "What are those few things that absolutely must go right for you to be successful?"

8) Financial - Check your bank statement (overcome the fear of how much money you do or do not have), Track every dollar you spend, Review your monthly budget or bank statement, Don't buy anything with a credit card, Take one step forward on the Path to Financial Peace, Give $1 to anyone who asks

9) Creativity - Go on an adventure today, Spend 20 minutes outside in nature for healthy dose of Vitamin D, Take a different route to or from work, Walk around your neighborhood, Try eating at a new restaurant, Explore a new part of town, Elevate your mind, Lean into novelty

10) Environment - Enter a positive environment, Leave a negative environment, Enhance your current environment to better support your goals and healthy habits, Read this article about the 9 environments that make up your life
