Luke 24:30-35
Jesus Can Open our Eyes
30When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"
33They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34and saying, "It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon." 35Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.
When Jesus was resurrected He met two of His followers on the Road to Emmaus...One of them ask Him, if He had heard what had happened in Jerusalem in these days...They preceded to tell Him what had happened...They also did not recognized Him...
These two men had their perspective of what happened...Jesus knew everything...It had happened to Him...When they broke bread with Him, they recognized Him...He had opened to Scriptures to them while on the road....Wouldn't that have been something...
These two got a powerful Old Testament lesson that day...They also learned that Jesus knew what was going on, even though they explained to Him what had happened (to Him)...We might miss Jesus if He is near and we are not paying attention...Sometimes we get caught up in the moment, and the One listening knows much, much more than the ones talking...So we have to listen and watch and be on guard when Jesus talks to us, so that He may open our eyes, and we, too, can see Him...
