Luke 22:41-43
Jesus Prays to our Father
41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
Jesus prayed a lot...He prayed continuously...
Before Jesus was arrested, He prayed...When we pray we want God to answer it most often in our terms and our own personal meaning...Jesus asks the Father to answer His prayer, not by My will but Thine (the Father's will)...
When we are praying it is difficult not to be wanting something...A desire, a pleasure, something material, some need we have, or some need for a friend or a relative -and often it is a health prayer...
God wants us to pray and He wants to answer our prayers...Jesus makes that clear, when He teaches us that if we ask for bread, would our parent give us a stone???...Even knowing we are evil, how much more will our Father give good gifts to those who ask (Matthew 7:9,11)...
How often do we pray the way Jesus did in the garden?... Jesus knows that a parent sometimes, when we are in trouble, will give us whatever they can to help our situation....But Jesus also knows that our Father, our LORD will give us what we need based on His infinite knowledge of all surrounding situations that are existing in the universe...How often do we end our prays in, not by my will Father, but by Your will?...
