Luke 24:1-8
The Resurrection
1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " 8Then they remembered his words.
On Easter we get the most important fact we have on earth... And no one has been able to dispute this fact...He has risen...
St. Paul says in Romans 14:9 because Jesus has risen he is the one who has control and is the Lord over life and death...
St. Peter in 1 Peter 1:3 says In His great mercy He has given us hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...
St. Paul again writes and is paraphrased in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 that Jesus lived, then was crucified and died, buried and then raised on the third day...He appeared to St. Peter...Then to the Twelve...And later 500 people have seen Him...And many of the 500 are still living (in case people have questions about this)... He then appeared to James, and then to me (St. Paul) on the road to Damascus...
St. Paul sums it up God's plan about the resurrection in Romans 10:9...If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved...
