Luke 23:34
Father Forgive Them for They Do Not Know What They Are Doing
34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
I would say that I follow One from Nazareth, a town in lower Galilee...He was a Galilean Jew from the first century...He was born in Bethlehem...He was called a Nazarene, but He was also called a Galilean...A Teacher who traveled from town to town teaching us the eternities of life...This Galilean went up against the religious leaders of His time...His country of Israel was occupied by Rome and Romans, but He spoke little of that occupation or politics...He spoke most exclusively on God and the Kingdom of God and how we are to treat our neighbors...His teachings were simple, yet somehow very complicated, but His teachings always included God, whom He called His Father...Back in His time, it was One against the Sanhedrin, the Pharisees, the teachers of the law, and those who followed these groups...These groups knew the Scriptures of God the best...His opposition (not thinking of love) looked for a plan to eliminate Him, to kill Him, while He sought and taught that forgiveness and love are the two great remedies of this life...He would give His life for both His enemies and His friends...Right before He was hung on a cross, He ask God to forgive those who were about to have Him put to death...A Galilean who also LOVED His enemies and forgave them...He would die for His enemies sins, as well as His friends sins...
