MCAT Study Group
AED is sponsoring LSU's first MCAT study group. We plan to continue the study group this semester and will have an interest survey posted and meeting times announced at a later date. Email ccress2@lsu.edu with any questions.
Blood Drive
Each fall and spring semester AED hosts a Blood Drive in the Student Union through LifeShare Blood Centers. AED members, friends, and other individuals on campus are welcome to donate. Last semester the event provided 88 units of blood to LifeShare!

Members will receive 1 service point for donating and 0.5 for everyone who donates on their behalf.
Boys and Girls Club of Metro Louisiana
AED’s philanthropy, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana, provides a safe way for children and teens to learn and grow in a fun environment! You can get involved with BGCMLA by being a 1:1 mentor or homework helper, by helping out during recreation and lunch, or by contributing your special skills! Christmas Toy Drive
Christmas toy drive for the Boys and Girls Club! Drop-off dates and times will be announced soon.
You can donate 10 items for 1 point and are allowed 2 points (20 items) maximum. Items we are looking for: socks, knitted caps, scarves, earmuffs, gloves, coloring books, color pencils/markers/crayons, puzzles, activity books, pencils, erasers, and pencil/markers case.
Study Buddies
Our study buddy list is up and running! If you’re looking to find fellow AED members/study buddies in your classes this fall, fill out this google form to be added to a list of AED members grouped by course! Email klync23@lsu.edu with any questions.
Reading and Math Friends
An opportunity to give individualized reading and math assistance to elementary school students. To participate you must commit to working at the student's school, once a week, for 30-45 minutes.

Health Professions Career Fair
Medical, dental, and other professional programs from the Louisiana area and across the country, as well as several baccalaureate programs, will be present to discuss your future with you. This event is a great way to network, gather information, and explore careers in health care. Click here for more information from the LSU Olinde Career Center.

Halloween Food Drive
Each year AED hosts an Annual Halloween Food Drive to help families in need in the Baton Rouge area. The event collects food, and on Halloween we deliver our donations to a neighborhood in Baton Rouge. This is our way to give back to our community. Last year we collected 1,637 pounds of food for a total of 1,364 meals for those in need in our community!

Kaplan Free Live Online Events
Kaplan is hosts free live online events throughout September and October centered around the MCAT and premed-related topics. Topics include MCAT science lessons, strategy sessions, panel discussions, and everything you need to know about the personal statement. Tutoring
AED offers free tutoring to all students every Thursday from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Zoom at Meeting ID: TBA. Please join if you have questions or even just need a study partner to quiz you on your notes! Open to all LSU students for Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and more. If you would like to be a tutor for service points, email ccress2@lsu.edu.
