Service

What is Service?

 Service is "the action of helping and doing work for someone." The goal of AED's service events is to provide help and services to ANYONE in the Baton Rouge community that may need it.

Service Point Requirement

6 service points are required to become an associate or full member and to maintain active status as an associate or full member. AED sponsored events are awarded 1 point per 2 hours, and ongoing service events are awarded 1 point per 3 hours. See membership for more details on membership requirements.

How to Sign-up for Service Points

Find an event on the calendar below that you would like to attend, then click on the Sign-Up link in that event’s description. If you see no link, please visit the “Current Service” document for more information about the event. If you are able to secure a spot via the Sign-Up page, you are automatically confirmed to attend that event. We also ask that you send a screenshot of your confirmation to aedservicelsu@gmail.com. 

In order to receive your points, you must sign in via the AED Event sign-in form once you have completed the event. Please remember to take pictures at the event to prove your attendance! 

All service points are due by Sunday, May 5th 

Cancellation and Absence Policy

You may cancel within 48 hours prior to the event and receive no point penalties. Email aedservicelsu@gmail.com with the event and shift you would like to cancel.  There are point penalties if you cancel after 48 hours or if you do not show up to the event.
