Service Point Guidelines
There are several ways to sign up for AED service events and earn your service points!
You can sign up for service events through our Google Calendar, which is linked at the bottom of this page. Just find an event that you would like to attend, click on the event for more details, and then click the sign-up link in that event's description!
We also have a Current Service document that is regularly updated by our VP's of service with new service point opportunities! Any and all information you might need should be available in the document, but if you have any other questions you can direct them to Anh-Tu or April at aedservicelsu@gmail.com. You can find the document linked here.
Our weekly email contains information about all upcoming events and recent AED news. Upcoming service events can be found in our VP's of service's section of the email and are typically accompanied by links to event sign-ups. You can sign up for the mailing list by using your Tiger email account to email aedemail@gmail.com with your name and LSU email address.
If you are able to secure a spot at an event directly through the sign-up link, then you are automatically confirmed to attend that event! We ask that you send a screenshot of your confirmation to aedservicelsu@gmail.com.
In order to receive your service points, you must complete the AED Event Sign-In Form once you have attended the event. Remember to take pictures at the event to prove you attended!
You may cancel any event as long as you cancel 48 hours prior to the event and receive no point penalties. To cancel, email aedservicelsu@gmail.com with the event and shift you would like to cancel.
There are point penalties if you cancel within 48 hours of the event or if you do not show up to the event.
Cancellations are permitted as long as they are submitted 48 hours before the start of the service event. Alternatively, you may find someone to replace you at the event for no point penalty; however, you will not receive the service points.
If you test positive for COVID-19, proof of a positive test is required in order to avoid point penalties.
Unexcused absences include cancelling an event within 48 hours of the service event or not showing up to a confirmed event for any reason, both of which result in point penalties. Below are the guidelines for point penalties:
First offense: -1/2 service point
Second offense: -1 service point
Third offense: Barred from volunteering for AED service events for the remainder of the semester
