Preceptorships

Preceptorships are one-time learning opportunities for students in which they gain hands-on experience in a health care setting under the guidance of a physician experienced in their field. Preceptorships are available to all AED members. They are not point opportunities, but they are great resume builders and give you a head start on discovering which field of medicine you may be interested in pursuing.

If you are interested in participating, please contact aedpreceptorships@gmail.com with your name, classification (freshmen, sophomore...), and the name of the top physician you are interested in shadowing. You may shadow multiple physicians a semester.

*Due to COVID-19 and current hospital policies there are a limited amount of preceptorship opportunities.

Preceptorship Rules and Limitations

You must attend the mandatory Zoom meeting to participate
1. Look out for the zoom link on the website, instagram, or email aedpreceptorships@gmail.com
2. Meetings will take place the first week of every month
You can only shadow each physician one time.
You may be matched to shadow a max of three physicians each semester.
Only submit the matching form once a month.
Do not contact any physicians or organizations directly, unless given specific permission.
You must fill out the post-shadowing form, otherwise you will not be matched again.
