So Whats new?
All Weapons now have a unique ballistic fingerprint and a "Durability" police weapons will expire faster and will require you to regear at the start of every shift. "Broken" weapons should be returned to the police armoury to refund the budget.
Weapons seized from members of the public will also have a unique fingerprint. this will tie to cases and bullet casings
Police tasers only have a 8 hour battery life
Police firearms are coated in a special acid that wears away firing pins after 24 hours
Information on this to follow
We are now able to test subjects on arrest for gun shot residue(GSR) this is done in the fingerprinting suites at police stations. it will confirm to you if the person has recently fired a weapon
there are ways to remove the GSR traces from people so just because its negative doesn't mean they are innocent
Search records are an item that the police use to document a stop and search and a search following arrest. it produces 2 copies of the same stop and search. This will allow you to hand the subject one if they wish to have a copy if not place both copies into the case file at the station. so they can it be fetched later
When a firearm is found ensure your search record includes you hovering over the weapon to include the serial number of the weapon.
you may need more than one search record folder to cover all of their pockets
Forensic officers will be able to collect; bullet casings, bullet fragments, blood and fingerprints these can all be put into case files to help build a picture as to what happened at a scene. Times before evidence expires have been extended allowing you to setup full forensics scenes and not have to rush back to the station to process it
Fingerprints at shop robberies work in the same way as before
Fingerprints no longer show the citizen ID of the person arrested. The police have to make the logical connections between the fingerprint and the citizen ID. This means that all suspects coming into the station should be fingerprinted and the crime recorded against their fingerprints rather than their citizen ID number.
Anyone claiming that their prints don't exist are to be printed anyway and the results will come up. Strong roleplay reasons allow you to assume that they do not have prints (used sparingly at your degression)
You are still able to link a fingerprint to a citizen ID so if you are 100% sure on who that person is you are able to link them here
Printing fingerprints onto card will use a "Blank Fingerprint Card" and fill it with the "Fingerprint Identifier" allowing you to place this into your case file. (Img bellow)
Copy Fingerprint Identifier allows you to copy their unique ID into your clipboard to search for them on the PNC or in the new case system.
The evidence locker is a thing of the past. When some is arrested a new case file will need to be opened and all evidence relating to that case file is to be placed in there. To open a case file you need to visit the old evidence locker locations or the forensics labs in Mission Row / Vespucci Police station
As all evidence can be placed in bags you are now required to place ANY item seized from someone into an evidence bag the main examples being; money, drugs, weapons when items are dragged into a case file metadata about the evidence is generated and the evidence will change to a new name
Case files are linked to incident reports on the PNC via the case file menu
Metadata on bullet casing
Metadata on evidence photo
Metadata on blood
We can now create incident reports relating to both a citizen ID or a fingerprint. the preferred method is via the fingerprint and we link the fingerprint to the citizen ID the police can no longer get the citizen id from fingerprinting unless we have made that connection ourselves. if you attempt to link both to a report it will not allow you to convict it and no recommended sentence will be provided.
the 720 month maximum sentence has been removed so if a firearm linked to 5 murders is found on someone they can actually be charged for 5 murders and the PNC will give you the correct calculation on maximum sentence.
Police Officers can now be linked to a report by click on linked officers, in the first instance it will show you a list of on duty officers that you can select from. you are not required link yourself as you will show as the report author.
When issuing a ticket to someone they will no longer be given an option to decline it. the two options work as before, pay now or within 14 days. after selecting an option both parties will be given a fine receipt that shows the reason (if over 5k this will be the report ID, if under the offence committed)
