Los Santos Police Service Ranks
Within the Los Santos Police Service we follow a Rank Structure, starting with the lead of the LSPS, the Chief Superintendent, all the way to Probationary Police Constable, please see below for each rank and what they do.
The Chief Superintendent is in charge of the police service, they liaise between the police service and government branches, they are ultimately responsible for the implementation of changes and the effects that will have on the wider community.
Superintendents are the right hand men and women of the chief superintendent, they assist in the decision making process, they handle the day to day running of the police service.
Chief Inspectors are the highest level of operational command, their role is identifying areas of high crime and tasking Inspectors with targeting this. They are also responsible for reviewing any paperwork before it is turned into a more senior officer.
Inspectors are tasked with sorting officers on a ground level, evaluating the feedback given by Sergeants and diverting resources accordingly, whether that be on patrol or an individual officers training and development.
Sergeants are experienced officers that are tasked with assisting and evaluating officers on patrol, giving help and advice in areas where officers are falling short of the expected standard.
Police constable is where most officers will spend the majority of their police career, they are expected to be able to patrol independently and deal with incidents with the level of professionalism that is expected of them. Police constables are able to transfer to a different division should that division accept them.
Probationary Police Constable is granted after the successful completion of your initial police training and assessment, during this probationary period you will be required to complete additional testing as well as patrol with senior officers to develop the necessary skills and experience to become a fully-fledged Police Constable.
