The Criminal Investigations Department is tasked with investigating organized crime within the city. CID consists of 4 departments; Junior DC, Investigations, Warrant Squad and Special Branch.

These departments are filled with highly trained Detectives who are assigned to organised crime groups (OCG) and crimes in Los Santos. Their main focus is gathering intelligence/information on organised crime and liaise with other units to plan and execute warrants.  The detectives in CID work on extended prison sentences, life sentences, arrest warrants and search warrants.  These warrants are the result of intensive investigations performed by marked and unmarked detectives. Not only do the detectives work on documents and have the ability to go undercover, they also are forensic experts and enter properties raided by the police to examine forensic evidence.  From sitting behind a desk working on an investigation to examining fresh blood on a crime scene.
