Archilles tendinopathy 

Pain and Stiffness: Most commonly, pain and stiffness occur in the Achilles tendon at the back of the ankle or heel, which is often worse first thing in the morning or after sitting for long periods

Achilles tendinopathy is a degenerative condition of overuse causing chronic pain and stiffness from micro-tears and weakness, while a rupture is an acute, sudden tear of the entire tendon, often signaled by a "pop" and a feeling of being kicked
