Troubleshooting Common Cambium Errors

Here are some troubleshooting tips for the most common Cambium errors.

• Error - Browser not supported

  • Fix - the student will need a different computer. Please put in a Zendesk IT Ed Tech Applications ticket for the student computer under “Cambium” - the student’s Secure Browser is not working. Make sure you include the asset tag number for the student’s computer

• Error -  ID not found/ID not matched

  • Fix 1- check to make sure the student chose “Texas” when logging into the secure browser. If they chose anything else, you will need to click the return to secure browser launchpad link to go back to the site menu or restart their computer

  • Fix 2- check to make sure the student did NOT log into their Chromebook before opening the Secure Test Browser app. If they did, have them log out and choose the app from the apps menu 

  • Fix 3- Make sure the student is in the operational site (blue background) and not the practice site (green background). If they are not in the operational site, they need to click on the operational site toggle in the mid right of their screen

  • Fix 4- make sure the student is copying their TSDS# and their first name EXACTLY as it appears on the ticket.

• Error - No test available

  • Fix -  This is an issue with the student’s eligibility in Cambium. Log into tide and search for the student by TSDS #. Click here for directions on what/how to update the eligibility (slide 156)

    • Make sure you check/update December EOC Eligibility, Retester flag, and EOC-Previously Passed.

• Error- All opportunities have been used

  • Fix - the student has submitted their test. 

    • If this was done in error AND the student has not yet left the secure test environment, please reach out to a RAC -we will need to contact cambium to re-open the assessment. 

    • If the student has left the secure test environment then there is no correction for this. Please fill out an Irregularity Report

• If all else fails contact us. We may need you to call Cambium. If you have not already programmed their number into your phone, please do so today! 833-601-8821

Guidance on Collecting Statements from Educators and Students: 

• Statements from educators involved in testing irregularities

  • Obtain separate, typed, signed, and dated statements from all individuals who were involved in or may have information about the incident.

  • Verify that each KTX Irregularity Report Form statement includes:

    • name, title, contact information, and role during testing;

    • how individual was responsible for or involved in incident;

    • description of incident from individual’s perspective;

    • individual’s signature; and

    • date the statement was signed.

  • Individuals implicated in a serious violation should be informed of the allegations being made and asked to respond directly to all accusations.

• Statements from students involved in testing irregularities

  • Obtain statements from any students who were involved in or may have information about the incident.

  • Students' statements may be handwritten or recorded and transcribed.

  • If the district records a student’s statement (video or audio), written consent from the student’s parent must be obtained as required under the TEC §26.009.

  • Contact information for each student should be maintained at the local level in case TEA requests it for a hearing.

Cambium Add/Remove Students

CTCs - please use this form to add missing students to Cambium, and to report students who need to be removed from Cambium. Student information should be verified in Skyward or from the Test Hound Student Demographics page (click on student list, click on demographics at the top). We are unable to add students with incomplete information.

• Add Missing students - Students who need to be added will be added within 48 hours if all information is provided

• Remove Withdrawn students - students will not be withdrawn until the end of the testing window to clean up your data. Districts are able to transfer students to their new school in Cambium so leaving them there makes it easier for new districts to add them.

To track the progress of your request, please bookmark the Tracker. 

• Requests that are complete will be marked green. 

• Requests that require more information will be marked orange and CTCs will be tagged in a comment.

• Requests that are not updated with missing information 48 hours after the request will be marked red and CTCs will need to resubmit.
