CBE Resources

The lead contact for Spanish CBE support is Jason Langeway. He shares information/logistics through the DAPS. CTCs support with test administration and logistics.

• The tests are in illuminate/Renaissance and that there are three different tests - Spanish I CBE, Spanish II CBE, Spanish III CBE.

• Each test takes approximately 40-60 minutes (should be administered in 1 class period), and each test has 1-2 audio listening portions that have to be played twice each by the proctor for the students testing.  The Spanish II and III tests have a written component.

• It can be an online test or given on paper with a printed scantron from Illuminate. If you do an online test so you would set up a quick code (similar to what you did for IAs last year), but you don't have to do accommodations so you would only create one quick code per test.

Testing administration protocol

All students  (8th in Spring; New to KIPP HS in the Fall) must take the Spanish I Placement, after scoring the exam:

• Students scoring below 80% are placed in Spanish I

Students scoring above 80% in the Spanish I Placement test take the Spanish II placement test, after scoring:

• Students scoring below 80% are placed in Spanish II

Students scoring above 80% in the Spanish II Placement test take the Spanish III placement test, after scoring:

• Students scoring below 80% are placed in Spanish III

• Students scoring above 80% are placed in Spanish IV or AP Spanish Language
