KIPP Texas Public Schools fully respects and acknowledges requests to have students opt out of STAAR testing; however, under state and federal laws, we are unable to honor this type of request because it is not an option offered in Texas.
Please reach out to your RAC anytime you receive a refusal to test!
All KTX Refusal to Test Documents can be found in the KTX Assessments Google Drive Folder I.

Please refer to this STAAR Results Parent Letter for directions on how to access student results in the Parent Portal or Skyward. Communication about accessing the student portal is sent every year during the last week of school to all parents.
CTCs - please note- you can use the parent portal to access individual student result histories too.
Mandatory Attendance
All CTC training is mandatory. We know and understand that CTCs play many vital roles on campus and that time is a valuable and scarce resource, but in order to be set you and your campus up for success you must attend all meetings. If you are unable to attend a meeting, your backup CTC or another member of the campus leadership team will be required to attend in your place. You and your campus are still responsible for all deadlines, action items, and content covered each week. For your convenience, we will record each training session and post it to the testing hub. However, watching a recorded session is not the same as participating live. If we notice a pattern of non-attendance, then a meeting with the CTC, SL, SLM and RAC will be initiated.
Absence Policy
Life happens – if for any reason you will not be able to attend either training meeting offered, you must do the following things:
Let your RAC know in advance.
Find someone from your campus leadership team (preferably your backup CTC or another CTC from your campus) to attend the meeting in your place. Let your RAC know who this will be.
Watch the recording of the meeting and review all meeting materials on your own.
Schedule a 1:1 follow up with your RAC to go over any remaining questions.
Chronic absenteeism from CTC training meetings will result in a follow-up conversation with SL, SLM, CTC, and RAC to problem solve and look for solutions.
Details:
KTX Assessment Master Classes are REQUIRED for all applicable CTCs.
These classes are smaller virtual gatherings in which we do guided interactive training.
These Master Classes are based on certain skills or platforms that need to be mastered in order to effectively administer our assessments.
Attendance at Mastery Classes is mandatory for the entire time slot you sign up for and mandatory for all applicable CTCs.
Mastery classes are different from Office Hours where you can drop in at any time during the time block.
Master classes require active participation (it is we do, you do and you have tasks that must be completed by the end of the session); therefore, CTCs must make arrangements to cover any other obligations, duties, etc. during their assigned training time or they will be asked to attend an additional training.
For certain Master Classes, CTCs who have previously administered the Assessment and have previously completed the skill/platform specific training may be allowed to check in with RACs during their assigned slot and leave early. This will be on a case by case basis.
Please see the topic sign up for any additional topic specific directions as required.

Dates, times, and links for open office hours will be shared on the KTX Assessment Calendar (outlook version).
Accounts for Students (all platforms) and Access to Log in.
Student accounts are automatically created through Clever once a student has been completely enrolled in Skyward (complete schedule). For new to KIPP Students, it takes 24-48 hours after the student has been registered in Skyward, for their clever account to be created.
Students will access i-ready, MAZE (mCLASS for K-6), and Illuminate Lockdown browser through their Clever Landing Page.
The NWEA testing app is in the apps menu on the Chromebook (but can also be accessed through Clever landing page)
Accounts for KTX Staff
KTX Assessments controls the creation of accounts for the following testing platforms only - Cambium, NWEA MAP, and Testhound. All other account requests must be made through an IT-Applications help ticket. Accounts are limited to KIPP Texas Employees only - we cannot create accounts for contractors, temporary staff, etc. nor use a non-KIPP email. Account credentials are non-transferrable and should not be shared.
If you do not have access to Clever - please submit and IT-Applications help ticket.
I-ready Accounts
Accounts for Teachers - Accounts for teachers of record (TOR) are created and rostered through Clever using your KIPP Texas Gmail account. You can log in directly from your Clever dashboard or choose "log in with Google" on the amplify log in page. You will access i-ready directly from your Clever dashboard. If i-ready is not on your Clever dashboard, please put in a IT-Applications help ticket.
Accounts for non-TOR - You must submit an IT - Applications ticket for access.
i-ready is listed as "Curriculum Associates i-Ready" on the applications drop down.
MCLASS Accounts

Student Visibility for non-TOR - A member of the campus leadership team is responsible for creating and sharing student groups in amplify mCLASS for non-teachers of record who will need access to student data and reports. NWEA Accounts
Any returning staff who previously had an NWEA account will still access with their account. If staff has forgotten their password, they should use the forgot password function.
Accounts for Teachers of Record (for Science only) were automatically created during the rostering process. This year those accounts were only created for 3-8 Science Teachers.
For Campus Leadership Team Members, Special Population Leads, and any other non-science teachers of record who need student data access.
NEW - NWEA MAP Account Request Google Form
Non-TOR (teacher of record) who need NWEA accounts and/or need to update their existing NWEA account should use this form.

Cambium/Testhound Accounts and Cambium Blackout Dates
Moving forward, test security, oath, and cambium access information will be found on this page of the testing hub. More info coming soon!
If you had access last year, you will continue to have access until August 15th of this school year. The Cambium account blackout and rollover dates will be included in the KTX Testing Strategy and Assessment Calendar.
After this date your account will be deactivated and removed from Cambium.
There are no rollover accounts. All KTX personnel who need access to Cambium must reapply for a new account every year.
Testhound accounts will be created for CTCs starting in September. We do not use Testhound for any BOY testing. If you would like to view last year's master accommodation list for your campus, you can find them here.
