Hello, I'm Jo

I've spent most of my working life in South Africa, where I was born and raised. 

I started teaching English in Korea in 2001 and Taipei in 2003. I moved back home and worked as an ICT Integrator for Apple, Project Manager at Pearson and designed an entrepreneurship training program for a network of up to 50 000 female entrepreneurs. Later,  I returned to International Teaching as a Design Teacher. I started in Beijing and moved to Shenzhen, where I lived for the last 7 years and then moved back to Beijing.

I'm passionate about student agency and the SDG's and love designing opportunities for young people to design solutions to problems, pursue their passions and explore entrepreneurial ideas. I'm a design thinker and design textiles as a hobby.

I have always enjoyed staying fit and healthy. I used to spend alot of time in the great outdoors hiking, cycling or running but I'm now an F45 enthusiast.

I spend most of my holidays exploring different countries or relishing time with friends in Cape Town, doing the things I love. 

I have a great passion for life, I love learning and want to make a difference in the world.
