The Friday evening service begins with the customary קבלת שבת. This page deals with the מעריב service proper

The service then continues with ק"ש and its ברכות:
המעריב ערבים 1 [MF; note that the Western Ashkenaz Nusach is, perhaps ironically, nearly identical to what one may hear in Polish-Hungarian-Galician - as opposed to Russian-Lithuanian - Chassidic congregations: presumably the German Nusach made it to the Chassidic communities by way of Hungary, part of which followed the Eastern Minhag, and part of which followed the Western Minhag]

The service then continues with פסוקים relating to שבת:

ושמרו 6 - standard Eastern Ashkenazi Nusach [ES], particularly as contrasted with
ושמרו 7 - slightly cantorialized version [ES]

... which are then followed by a חצי קדיש:
חצי קדיש 1 [MF; a variant of this קדיש is sometimes sung in YIs by the בעל קריאה at the end of קריאת התורה on שבת morning]

An abridged version of חזרת השץ is now chanted by the חזן:
מעין שבע - ברכה - 1 [MF]
The middle section thereof, beginning מגן אבות, is chanted by the congregation, followed by the חזן (In some congregations, notably those following מנהג הגרא, only the חזן says מגן אבות; in still others, notably those following נוסח ארי, the חזן and congregation sing מגן אבות in unison):

... after which the חזן then concludes the ברכה:

קדיש תתקבל 3 - S&P - London [LSC, EAb], which is followed by תהלים כג [AT] and ברכו, to which the congregation responds ברוך ה המבורך [EA]
Many congregations (particularly YIs and those following the Western Minhag of both (!) traditions) conclude the service with יגדל, for which there are dozens of melodies, but some of which are specially reserved for the conclusion of the Friday evening service:

יגדל 2 set to a colonial American/British march - S&P [LSC]
יגדל 3 - S&P - London [LSC]
יגדל 4 - Amsterdam [EA; this melody is often set to יה רבון]
