T.E.A. TIME

Throughout the various tasks and activities given for this course, I was able to exhibit perseverance, as well as further practice my skills in collaboration. Such can be said, as I was able to be more active and less hesitant to reach out to my groupmates in our assessments, as compared to the previous quarters. To give an example, in the first home lab activity (HLA) for the quarter, I saw that it would be more challenging than the previous lab reports, as we would have to record a video for the report instead of typing our output in a given file. However, despite that, I made sure to not give up and instead try to communicate with my groupmates as soon as possible. Doing so was very helpful, as my groupmates and I were able to start working on our tasks as soon as possible, and do such efficiently.

To add even further, I think that I was able to practice perseverance when I was doing my assigned parts for the lab report. Going into further detail, I was in charge of discussing the procedure, preparing slides for the presentation, and editing the video report. Although discussing the procedure and preparing the slides did not take too long to accomplish, editing the video output really took some time, as I had to compile all the clips and recording provided by my groupmates, and make sure that there are proper visual aids for specific parts of the report. However, through remaining persevering and messaging my groupmates if ever I needed them to prepare something for the video, I was able to complete the video report, and have my group double-check the output.

Personally, I think that these skills can help me become a “proud chemist in the making,” as I will be able to perform better in groupworks throughout the course, as well as in other contexts. An example of this would be FAREM 9.3, which involved solution chemistry, and was done in pairs. Along with that, as a news writer of Hi-Lites, the official publication of the senior high school, being persevering and open to collaborations can allow me to make sure that the information in the articles I write are have been fact-checked and are free of bias.

P.S. Although we were not able to do the experiment together as a group due to the online setting, I still had fun in making the video report, as it reminded me of when my classmates and I made ice cream through the same experiment back in Grade 9 :>
