Final Research Presentation
The seventh student learning outcome is met through my semester-long evidence-based research project in my nursing research class. The project meets the learning outcome as a partner and I spent weeks collecting data from articles that we critically appraised and then used that data to create a presentation tailored to point-of-care quality and safety initiatives. Our research found that the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors with anticholinergic properties does cause an increase in the incidence of developing dementia. We presented our findings with the goal of educating others so that they can take the necessary steps to mitigate the issue at hand. The presentation, overall, was able to contribute to and expand the empirical knowledge that guides evidence-based practice.
