Community Service Activity: 2021 - 2022

          On February 8th, 2022, I volunteered as a student tutor for Longwood University’s Collaborating with Lancers for Academic Success Program (CLASP). This is an educational program specifically for first-year college students that gears those students to succeed in college. On this day, I volunteered on a Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 until around 5:30. During this time I worked with a group of three students and tutored them in an English course that required an essay. I helped the students develop a proper format for the essay’s structure and showed them resources to use to gather scholarly sources. In addition to this, I was able to proofread the papers for grammatical errors, APA mechanics, and structure. This was a great opportunity for me to share my knowledge of writing with other fellow students. I also enjoyed being able to help the students academically!
