Longwood University Nursing Clinical Skills Checklist
The Department of Nursing Clinical Skills Checklist meets the learning outcome of providing exceptionally proficient care to clients through the challenging but necessary nursing skills that I must signed off on. Each nursing skill must be demonstrated to a nursing faculty member and performed correctly in order to be labeled as satisfactory. Additionally, I am then able to perform these signed skills on patients in the clinical setting with a registered nurse or nursing faculty present. By having a skills checkoff sheet, I am able to prove competency which in turn shows my dedication to delivering exceptional, quality care that meets nursing standards to patients. Furthermore, the standards met in order to prove my proficiency also demonstrate quality, patient-centered care.
