STONE FACES WITH FRAME
... If these rocks could talk, what might they say?
Some discoveries ask to become characters. Others simply ask to be preserved.
These naturally weathered stone faces are presented within handmade ceramic frames that protect and celebrate them, while leaving the stones themselves completely untouched. Unlike the ceramic bodies, these frames do not extend the character into a fictional presence. Instead, they draw attention to what nature has already created, inviting the viewer to contemplate the stone itself.
The sculptures with ceramic bodies allow the characters to become fully present. These framed stones, by contrast, become found portraits — encounters preserved and ready to be displayed on a wall. Here, nothing is added beyond the frame. The stone is invited to speak for itself.
Because no body is added, even the smallest profile or partial expression can stand on its own, allowing subtle discoveries that might otherwise remain unnoticed.
If one of these stones speaks to you, trust your instincts. Let it choose you. Somehow, you'll know which one belongs with you — or with someone you love.
