Heads

  ...a population shaped by nature

Some stones don't simply have faces. They seem to have heads.

I see rocks as tiny or really huge packets of history, time capsules left by our home planet for us to figure out. Shaped in three dimensions by water, wind and time, each one carries its own profile, expression and personality.

Some are photographed exactly as I find them; occasionally, a natural element — a shell, a piece of seaweed or something found nearby — is enough to bring out a feature that already seemed to be there. None of the stones themselves are carved or altered. I simply notice who has turned up.
