...sometimes I step into the picture
Most of the time, I remain behind the camera, observing and photographing the faces I encounter. But every now and then, I become part of the scene.
These photographs are not intended as self-portraits. My presence simply changes the relationship: it gives the stones a human scale and turns observation into encounter. For a moment, the one who is looking becomes part of what is being seen.
After spending so much time discovering them, it was inevitable that one day I would find myself among them.
