And here it is! Arcadia, the first hub city! It still needs populating and interiors, but I am reasonably happy with how the architecture turned out.
Middle Class District: Home to the library and the every-day citizens of Arcadia. Home to Marcus.
Market District: Shops line the street to the side of an open-air market around the central fountain.
Slums: where the less fortunate members of Arcadian society reside. Home of Kaze.
High Class District: A gated community where the wealthy and influential nobles of Arcadia make their homes.
Government District: Home to the town hall and Adventurer's Guild.
Guard Barracks: Exactly as it sounds, where the Arcadia City Guard works out of. Also includes the prison down below.
And now for some of the challenges I'm going to have to resolve at some point. Challenge one: building diversity. With access to only the base assets of RPG Maker MZ, there are only so many styles of buildings I can make. And with 3 other hub cities, I wouldn't want to waste all of them in the first location. I'm hoping adding some more decorations to improve the texturing of the buildings may resolve this somewhat.
And challenge two: Doors. Not all of the doors can be used. I'm not letting the player just break into everyone's houses (as traditional as that is). The problem is, currently, there's no way to tell the difference between a door that can be used and one that is locked, other than to try each and every one. And while that's technically a solution, it's not one I like.
