Like the Armore Core Mech, this set is very much inspired by Mishima Productions.
If there's one thing cooler than an awesome giant mech, it's an awesome giant mech that transforms. Inspired by set number 71792, Sora's Transforming Mech Bike Racer, I wanted to scale it up to a Titan form. I also wanted to throw in some of my other favorite bits that I never used on a mech before: wheels for feet, and digitigrade legs.
The legs weren't too bad (finding enough joints from my collection was the biggest hurdle there), but the feet were a different story entirely. It took quite a bit of trial and error to find a way to create a stand that wasn't intrusive and also integrated well into the mech. I ended up with a sort of kick-stand design that worked out pretty well in my opinion.
Other than that, the rest of the model was just making sure all the various limbs and parts fit together smoothly in Motorcycle form. Both the waist and lower legs spin around to get positioned properly, and the two weapons detach from the arms and reattach to the front of the bike. It's a lot of fun, changing it between forms, which is the main draw of this type of model. That being said, I'm not too happy with how the arms line up, and may end up changing that some day. I want them to fit closer to the body, making it less obvious they're arms.
