This set is a perfect example of how a single piece choice can change the story of an entire set. Take away the yellow and black plates on the legs, and it's just another mech, albeit one with an interesting color scheme. Add them in, however (from not being able to find grey ones in my collection), and all of a sudden, the set is now some sort of construction mech hastily made combat ready. Were the stud shooters originally a welding torch? Was the sword a saw? Were the shoulder blasters nail guns? These are the kinds of stories a single piece choice can lead to. And I love it.
It's also a good showing that just because a set is small, it doesn't mean there can't be any cool functions. First, there is not one, not two, but three different configurations for the sword: clipped to the arm backwards as being stored; clipped to the arm forward as an arm blade; and held normally. Additionally, the shoulder cannons are attached to a backpack, which can be removed, allowing the mech's shoulder thrusters to flip up and reducing the mech's profile, turning it from a heavy bruiser to a much more agile aerial fighter. The backpack even has its own thrusters, allowing it to act as a drone of some kind, aiding the main mech in combat.
