As mentioned in the intro to this section of my portfolio, as a kid, I would often take apart new sets and rebuild them as something else. So here's one of the better ones that actually holds up really well to this day. This is an alternate build of set number 75342, the Republic Fighter Tank, using mostly pieces from that set. This was a while ago, so I can't say with 100% certainty I used parts only from that set, but that should mostly be the case.
The front cockpit holds two pilots, the back has some good ol' thrusters, and the bottom retains the original set's wheels, allowing it to glide along the floor. It's got some smooth armoring, and a pair of rotating blasters on the side, complete with two different kinds of firing mechanisms. But the really cool part is the interior. Two sections of roof can come off, as well as the back of the transport lowered down to reveal room not only for the prisoner, but a pair of guards as well. There's even a viewing port, allowing the guards to keep an eye on who they're transporting at all times! Round it off with a few clips for storing weapons, and you've got a really slick and quite different ship set.
This set pairs wonderfully with any sort of Villain ship, as the prisoner's buddies go on a wild chase sequence to break their friend out.
