Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!
Holy is the Lord, God Almighty.
Heaven and earth are full of his glory.
Holy is the Lord. Holy is the Lord.
Holy is the name of the Lord.
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!
Blest is he who comes in the Lord's name.
Heaven and earth are full of his glory.
Blessed is the Lord. Blessed is the Lord.
Blessed is the name of the Lord.
1. Ride on! Ride on in majesty!
Hark, all the tribes hosanna cry;
thy humble beast pursues his road
with palms and scattered garments strowed.
2. Ride on! Ride on in majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die;
O Christ, thy triumphs now begin
o’er captive death and conquered sin.
3. Ride on! Ride on in majesty!
The winged squadrons of the sky,
look down with sad and wondering eyes
to see the approaching sacrifice.
4. Ride on! Ride on in majesty!
Thy last and fiercest strife is nigh;
the Father, on his sapphire throne
expects his own anointed Son.
5. Ride on! Ride on in majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die;
bow thy meek head to mortal pain,
then take, O God, thy power, and reign.

RESPONSE: Cantor, then all:
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? (x2)
All who see me deride me;
they curl their lips, they toss their heads:
'He trusted in the Lord, let him save him;,
let him release him, for in him he delights'.
R/: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
For dogs have surrounded me;
a band of the wicked besets me.
They tear holes in my hands and my feet;
I can count every one of my bones.
R/: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
They divide my clothing among them,
they cast lots for my robe.
But you, O Lord, do not stay afar off;
my strength, make haste to help me!
R/: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
I will tell of your name to my kin,
and praise you in midst of the assembly;
'you who fear the Lord, give him praise;
all descendants of Jacob, give him glory;
revere him, all you descendants of Israel'.
R/: My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?
My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?

REFRAIN:
Cantor: Glory and praise to you, O Christ
ALL: Glory and praise to you, O Christ
Christ became for us obedient to the point
of death, even death on a cross.
Therefore God has highly exalted him
and bestowed on him the name that
is above every name.
Cantor: Glory and praise to you, O Christ

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your kingdom.
R:/ To you our God, Eternally Blessed,
Be glory and Praise for ever.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators
of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform all of humanity
and the whole of creation in the sure
expectation of a new heaven
and a new earth,
when your glory, O Lord, will shine eternally.
R:/ To you our God, Eternally Blessed,
Be glory and Praise for ever.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread the joy
and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
R:/ To you our God, Eternally Blessed,
Be glory and Praise for ever. Amen
See Christ was wounded for our sake
and bruised and beaten for our sin,
so by his suff'rings we are healed,
for God has laid our guilt on him.
Look on his face, come close to him
see you will find no beauty there:
despised, rejected, who can tell
the grief and sorrow he must bear?
Like sheep that stray we leave God's path
to choose our own and not his will
like lamb to slaughter he has gone
obedient to his father's will.
Cast out to die by those he loved
reviled by those he died to save,
see how sin's pride has sought his death
see how sin's hate has made him grave.
For on his shoulders God has laid
the weight of sin that we should bear;
so by his passion we have peace,
through his obedience and his prayer.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord, God of hosts
Heaven and earth are full of your glory
Hosanna in the highest, Hosanna in the Highest.
Blessed, blessed, blessed is He
who comes in the name of the Lord
Hosanna in the Highest, Hosanna in the Highest.
Mass of Creation: Music by Marty Haugen
When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup
We proclaim your Death, O Lord,
until you come again.
Mass of Creation: Music by Marty Haugen
Plainchant
Spoken
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present
in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.
I love You above all things
and I passionately desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come spiritually into my soul
so that I may unite myself wholly to You
now and forever.
Amen.
Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit
Father, if this chalice cannot pass
without my drinking it,
your will be done.
1. O Sacred Head ill-used,
by reed and bramble scarred;
that idle blows have bruised,
and mocking lips have marred,
now dimmed that eye so tender,
how wan those cheeks appear,
how overcast the splendour
that angel hosts revere!
2. What marvel if thou languish,
vigour and virtue fled,
wasted and spent with anguish
and pale as are the dead?
O by they foes' derision,
that death endured for me,
grant that thy open vision
a sinner's eye may see.
3. Good Shepherd, spent with loving,
look on me, who have strayed,
oft those lips unmoving
with milk and honey stayed;
spurn not a sinner’s crying
nor from thy love outcast,
but rest thy head in dying
on these frail arms at last.
4. In this they sacred Pssion
O, that some share had I!
O, may thy Cross's fashion
o'erlook me when I die!
For these dear pains that rack there
a sinner's thanks receive;
O, lest in death I lack thee
a sinner's care relieve.
5. Since death must be my ending,
in that dread hour of need,
my friendless cause befriending,
Lord, to my rescue speed;
thyself, dear Jesus, trace me
that passage to the grave,
and from thy cross embrace me
with arms outstretched to save.

1. My song is love unknown,
My Saviour's love to me;
Love to the loveless shown,
That they might lovely be.
O who am I, that for my sake
My Lord should take frail flesh, and die?
2. He came from His blest throne
Salvation to bestow;
But men made strange, and none
The longed-for Christ would know:
But oh, my Friend, My Friend indeed,
Who at my need His life did spend.
3. Sometimes they strew His way,
And His sweet praises sing;
Resounding all the day
Hosannas to their King:
Then "Crucify!" is all their breath,
And for His death They thirst and cry.
4. Why, what hath my Lord done?
What makes this rage and spite?
He made teh lame to run
he gave teh blind their sight.
Sweet injuries! Yet that at these
5. They rise and needs will have
My dear Lord made away;
A murderer they save,
The Prince of life they slay.
Yet cheerful He to suffering goes,
That He His foes From thence might free.
6. In life no house, no home
my Lord on earth might have:
In death no friendly tomb
but what a stranger gave.
what may I say? Heav'n was his home;
but mine the tomb wherein he lay.
7. Here might I stay and sing,
No story so divine;
Never was love, dear King,
Never was grief like Thine.
This is my Friend, in whose sweet praise
I all my days would gladly spend
