Responsorial Psalm

RESPONSE: (Cantor, then all)

Come, Lord, and save us. (x 3)

It is the Lord who preserves fidelity for ever,

who does justice to those who are oppressed.

It is he who gives bread to the hungry,

the Lord who sets prisoners free.

R:/ Come, Lord, and save us. (x 3)

The Lord who opens the eyes of the blind,

the Lord who raises up those who are bowed down.

It is the Lord who loves the just,

the Lord who protects the stranger.

R:/ Come, Lord, and save us. x 3

The Lord upholds the orphan and the widow,

but thwarts the path of the wicked.

The Lord will reign for ever,

your God, O Sion, from age to age.

Come, Lord, and save us. x 3

Offertory Song

1. O come, divine Messi - ah!

The world in silence waits the day

When hope shall sing its tri - umph,

And sadness flee a - way.

CHORUS:

Dear Saviour haste;

Come, come to earth,

Dispel the night and show your face,

And bid us hail the dawn of grace.

O come, divine Messiah!

The world in silence waits the day

When hope shall sing its triumph,

And sadness flee away.

2. O Come, desired of nations

whom priest and prophets long foretold,

will break the captive fetters,

redeem the long-lost fold.

CHORUS:

Dear Saviour haste;

Come, come to earth,

Dispel the night and show your face,

And bid us hail the dawn of grace.

O come, divine Messiah!

The world in silence waits the day

When hope shall sing its triumph,

And sadness flee away.

3. O come in peace and meekness,

for lowly will your cradle be:

all clothed in human weakness

shall we your Godhead see.

CHORUS:

Dear Saviour haste;

Come, come to earth,

Dispel the night and show your face,

And bid us hail the dawn of grace.

O come, divine Messi - ah!

The world in silence waits the day

When hope shall sing its tri - umph,

And sadness flee a - way.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present

in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.

I love You above all things

and I passionately desire
to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,

come spiritually into my soul

so that I may unite myself wholly to You

now and forever. Amen.

Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit

Communion Antiphon:

Say to the faint of heart:

Be strong and do not fear.

Behold, our God will come,

and he will save us.
