Opening Song

REFRAIN:

Blessed be the Lord, blest be the Lord,

The God of mercy, the God who saves.

I shall not fear the dark of night,

Nor the arrow that flies by day.

VERSE 1:

He will release me

from the nets of all my foes.

He will protect me

from the wicked hands.

Beneath the shadow

of His wings I will rejoice,

To find a dwelling place secure.

VERSE 2:

I need not shrink

before the terrors of the night,

Nor stand-alone

before the light of day.

No harm shall come to me,

no arrow strike me down,

no evil settle in my soul.

Music & Words: Dan Shutte

Gloria

Refrain:

Glory to God in the Highest

and on earth peace to people of goodwill

  1. We praise you, we bless you,
    we adore you, we glorify you,
    we give you thanks for your great glory.
    Lord God, Heav’nly King,
    O God Almighty Father
    we give you thanks for your great glory

  2. Lord Jesus Christ, only begotten Son,
    Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
    you take away the sins of the world
    have mercy on us;
    you take away the sins of the world;
    receive our prayer
    you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
    have mercy on us, have mercy on us.

  3. For you alone are the Holy One,
    you alone are the Lord
    you alone are the Most High Jesus Christ
    with the Holy Spirit
    in the glory of God the Father. Amen

Responsorial Psalms

Psalm 22(23)

R/: The Lord is my shepherd: there is nothing I shall want.

The Lord is my shepherd;

there is nothing I shall want.

Fresh and green are the pastures

where he gives me repose.

Near restful waters he leads me,

to revive my drooping spirit.

R/: The Lord is my shepherd: there is nothing I shall want.

He guides me along the right path;

he is true to his name.

If I should walk in the valley of darkness

no evil would I fear.

You are there with your crook and your staff;

with these you give me comfort.

R/: The Lord is my shepherd: there is nothing I shall want.

You have prepared a banquet for me

in the sight of my foes.

My head you have anointed with oil;

my cup is overflowing.

R/: The Lord is my shepherd: there is nothing I shall want.

Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me

all the days of my life.

In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell

for ever and ever.

R/: The Lord is my shepherd: there is nothing I shall want.

Offertory Song

1, The King of love and mercy, O, my Shepherd is,

His goodness never fails.

There’s nothing I shall need because my Father

gives;

His goodness never fails.

Bread of Heav’n, He feeds me;
O, Good Shepherd, lead me,
Home, rejoicing greet me, Lord, for ever.

2. He leads me to the streams where living waters flow,

His goodness never fails.

to the fields, where all the bright green pastures grow,

His goodness never fails.

Bread of Heav’n, He feeds me;
O, Good Shepherd, lead me,
Home, rejoicing greet me, Lord, for ever.

3. When I’ve been wrong and foolish and I’ve sometimes strayed,

His goodness never fails.

And on His shoulder, there I have been gently laid,

His goodness never fails.

Bread of Heav’n, He feeds me;
O, Good Shepherd, lead me,
Home, rejoicing greet me, Lord, for ever.

I am His, He is mine, for ever,
I am His, He is mine, for ever! (x2)

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present

in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.

I love You above all things

and I passionately desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,

come spiritually into my soul

so that I may unite myself wholly to You

now and forever.
Amen.

Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit

Communion Song

  1. I love You Lord

Oh Your mercy never fails me

All my days

I've been held in Your hands

From the moment that I wake up

Until I lay my head

I will sing of the goodness of God

CHORUS 1:

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so, so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

  1. I love Your voice

You have led me through the fire

In darkest nights

You are close like no other

I've known You as a father

I've known You as a friend

I have lived in the goodness of God

REPEAT CHORUS

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so, so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

BRIDGE: (x2)

Your goodness is running after

It's running after me

Your goodness is running after

It's running after me

With my life laid down I'm surrendered now

I give You everything

Your goodness is running after

It's running after me

INTERLUDE:

REPEAT CHORUS 1

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so, so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God

CHORUS 2

All my life You have been faithful

All my life You have been so, so good

With every breath that I am able

I will sing of the goodness of God
