34th Sunday OT ~ 26th Nov  2023

Entrance Song

 1. Hail, Redeemer, King divine!

     Priest and Lamb, the throne is thine,

    King, whose reign shall never cease,

    Prince of everlasting peace.

   Chorus:

   Angels saints and nations sing:

  ‘Praised be Jesus Christ, our King;

   Lord of life, earth, sky and sea,

   King of love on Calvary.’

2. King whose name creation thrills,

     rule our minds, our hearts, our wills,

     till in peace each nation rings

     with thy praises, King of kings.

3. King most holy, King of truth,

    guide the lowly, guide the youth;

    Christ thou King of glory bright,

    be to us eternal light.

4. Shepherd-King, o’er mountains steep,

     homeward bring the wandering sheep,

     shelter in one royal fold

     states and kingdoms, new and old.

Responsorial Psalm

RESPONSE: (Cantor, then all)

      The Lord is my Shepherd there; he is true to

      there is nothing i shall want

     The Lord is my shepherd;

     there is nothing i shall want.

     Fresh and green are the pastures

     Where he gives me repose

     Near restful waters he leads me.

     To revive my drooping spirit.

      He guides me along the right path

      He is true to his name.

     If i should walk in the valley of darkness

     no evil will i fear

     You are there with your crook and your staff;

     with these you give me comfort.

     You have prepared a banquet for me

      in sight of my foes.

     My head you have anointed with oil;

     My cup is overflowing

     Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me

     all the days of my life .

     In the Lord's own house shall I dwell

     for ever and ever.

     Psalm 22:1-3. 5-6r.l

Communion Song

 Simple Kingdom

As simple as love

You welcomed the chil-dren

You stopped for the one

We want to see people

The way Jesus does

Your kingdom is sim-ple

Lord, teach it to us

As humble as death

His King is a sav-ior

Who gave His last breath

So may we die daily

Our pride laid to rest

His kingdom is hum-ble

And the broken are blessed

CHORUS

Hallelujah

Hallowed be Your name

May we live and breathe Your praise

Hallelujah

Let all creation say

Oh The King of heaven reigns

LINK:

Your kingdom is here

Alive in our wait-ing

At work in our tears

So come to us quickly

Forever our prayer

Your kingdom is com-ing

Lord Jesus, come near

REPEAT CHORUS (2x)

Hallelujah

Hallowed be Your name

May we live and breathe Your praise

Hallelujah

Let all creation say

Oh The King of heaven reigns

INTERLUDE:

It flows in reverse

What You call a treas-ure

This world calls a curse

The small become great and

The last become first

Your kingdom is back-wards

Lord, teach us to serve

As it is with Your king-dom

Let it be with Your church

REPEAT CHORUS (2x)

Hallelujah

Hallowed be Your name

May we live and breathe Your praise

Hallelujah

Let all creation say

Oh The King of heaven reigns

CODA:

Oh The King of heaven reigns

Oh The King of heaven reigns

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present

in this Holy Sacrament of the altar.

I love You above all things

and I passionately desire
to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,

come spiritually into my soul

so that I may unite myself wholly to You

now and forever. Amen.

Based on a prayer of St Alphonsus Liguorit

Recessional Song

       1. From heaven You came, helpless babe

           Entered our world, Your glory veiled

          Not to be served but to serve

          And give Your life that we live

   CHORUS:

        This is our God,  the Servant King;

         He calls us now to follow  Him

        To bring our lives as a daily offering

        Of worship  to the Servant King.

2.  There in the garden of tears

      My heavy load He chose to bear;

      His heart with sorrow was torn,

      Yet not my will, but Yours he said.

3.  Come see His hands and his feet,

      The scars that speak of sacrifice

      Hands that flung stars into space

     To cruel nails surrendered

4.  So let us learn now to serve,

      And in our lives enthrone Him

      Each other's needs to prefer

      For it is Christ we're serving
